Why do so many wanna be vampires?

GAH! It’s because of that atupid serious! It pisses me off. Yeah. People have tuned it down… But it’s still EVERYWHERE!

Its just like wanting to be hannah montana or tn marry the jonas brothers. Stupid! And btw the twilight series is awesome!

I think the reason so many people want to be vampires, is because vampires are supposed to be super fast and strong. Plus, they can live forever. In some cases, they are said to be extremely beautiful. The most important thing, I think, is that vampires can do whatever they want. They don’t have to follow the rules.

Wow… if they actually want to become a vampire because of something dumb like Twilight, they need to get a life. Twilight is an insult to all vampire movies/books ever made haha Sorry so any Twilight fans I might have offended but it’s true.

Oh and just for the record, vampires actaully are cool. It doesn’t make you weird or a freak if you like them.

Yeah, vampires are pretty cool, I’ll admit. But I also agree with the people talking abou how the ones asking how to be one should all just grow up and get lives. I’m sorry to shoot down a lot of people’s responses with this one, but no, it has nothing to do with Twilight. The movie/book is only the most recent incarnation of vampire fantasies.

Anne Rice has written MANY such books portraying Vampires to be in a sexual or romantic light.

White Wolf Publishing/White Wolf Game Studio have put out a huge number of books related to their role playing games (Vampire: The Masquerade [old world of darkness], Vampire: The Requiem [new world of darkness]) that portray certain vampires in that light, end nearly ALL vampires within this fiction invoke a pleasurable feeling when they bite their victims to drink their blood.

And if that’s not enough fiction portraying vampires in a romantic way, don’t forget Joss Whedon’s portrayal of Angel and Spike in the television series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Angel”.

Also, there’s a psychological interplay that mixes the feeling of fear for one’s life but desire for immortality into a nice package that vampires have. There’s a romance to the notion of a creature that must subsist only on blood (a predator), who can live eternally and who can pass on their gift.

There are numerous reasons why women may fall for such an enticing ideal, but it’s no stranger than men who fantasize about an eleven-way. (Yes, that was a Family Guy reference, I apologise.)
