Why do people hate screamo bands?

I sing for a screamo band, and dont rip on it if you dont understand how much harder it is than regular bands, screamo aint generic, its unique, so stfu if you hate it, you dont matter :P suck on that.

a lot of screamo has meaning. people dont take tim to listen I made some people I know listen to mcr(they arent screamo but im using it as an example) even tho they thought mcr was an emo band and they like some songs and the meanings. it takes patience and inteligence.

I’ve worked post-production for a number of screamo bands and their videos, and I keep waiting for the punchline. It’s all so unbelievably silly, like a 2-year-old who found out he can make a sound and continues to make it whether or not it makes any sense or not. (My favorites are the ones that start as love ballads and then devolve into whiny, scream-filled temper tantrums. That HAS to be a joke. That’s the only way I can make sense of it).

But that is beside the point. I have no problem with people indulging in a form of music that sounds like kids trying to cough salmon bones out of their throat, and you have to have no problem with people hating it. If people have told you that they don’t like your music because they prefer lyrics that can be understood by uninitiated outsiders, you have to accept that answer.

honestly I think instead of listening to the song they just automatically freak because your screaming. I like screamo hell…I luv screamo. and I can understand wht they say too. people are just stupid half the time. thts why they just need sumthin to tlk about

The Majority of people don’t hear the melody. it’s not very Melodic, unless you really know what your doing. I’d check out “eatmewhileimhot” very melodic. maybe you will get some influence?

well I love screamo so I dont know why people dont like it. I dont know why they like that hiphop rap crap. my boyfriend screamos in a band and hes damn good <3

I dislike screamo bands because they’re all so generic. Chuga chuga chuga chuga chuga chuga chuga chuag RAH RAH RAH breakdown Breakdown Breeeaaakdown The style is absurd that goes along with it, I like to be able to tell the gender of the artist I’m listening to rather then look at some whiney, scrawny, boy in make up. It seems like people obsess over the actual ‘look’ of the music, instead of the sound. The whole scene just makes me kind of sick to be honest. However, music is subjective, so there’s going to be different view points. I myself like what I would call “actual metal”, not that kiddie crap. Just my opinion.
