Why do Christians bash each other?

I’m just wondering, why do Christians bash each other? I know we can’t help it sometimes but, what’s the purpose? Just want your thoughts and opinions.

Answer #1

Its just difference in personal opinions and beliefs - the same reason why people bash each other about anything else.

Answer #2

cristians=critique… thats my theory. I was chrisian, now free spirit but thats why I changed.. its waaay too judgemental.. theres a subject on every effin thing you do.!

Answer #3

Because they are people too and they can make mistakes just like everyone else.

Answer #4

Well, the only time I do it is when some are preaching things that are clearly not biblical. cough cough…Catholics…ahem…

There is somebody that has the answer, but it’s not one of us. and I go by His words.

Answer #5

so I don’t really “bash”. I criticize against the bible, which is supposed to be the book we are all based on. What is this catechism thing? it must be a specialized book of beliefs and whatnot. Why do you need that if you have the bible? Because there’s probably a bunch of stuff in there that isn’t in the bible.

Answer #6

Because people like to feel superior to others. Also, christian’s bashing christian’s is is hypocritical, seeing as how judging people and talking bad about people is considered a sin.

Answer #7

No matter what group you mention they’re going to be some (usually a small precentage) that will ‘bash’ because they are human and humans are very flawed - it may be ego, to impress, to belittle, just a myriad of reasons - certainly Christians are to love all, but they too are by no means perfect - they have the same common flaws as all - bottom line: not perfect, but forgiven…Take care !!

Answer #8

cause everyone thinks they have the answer but no one realy dose

Answer #9

Because there are different denominations because some Christians have details in their religion that differs compared to others. Like misterinvisible pointed out, some Christians think Catholics teach things that aren’t in accordance with the other group’s beliefs. Unfortunately, instead of recognizing those differences maturely, they do something that’s human and go about it in a more hostile manner (I.e. name calling, heated arguments, “bashing” if you will).

It’s the same principle with someone who thinks their favorite color is the best of them all, when in reality it’s likely to vary according to each individual’s choice.
