why did paranormal activity scare so many people?

I also thought it was going to be really scary because I heard all the hype that it was the scariest movie of all time. But honestly it wasnt. I admit when I watched it the first time I was freaked but then I got over it. It wasnt all that scary.

the boyfriend thing was weird, but that movie was hilarious. in the theater, everything people screamed at, I laughed at

I didn’t like her standing staring at her boyfriend for hours.. that was creepy. lol

same here, to me stomping footsteps and things moving, hey doesnt scare me, but I suppose some people are more used to it than others

I agree thay are just traing to keep it real or meaby they base it on like simmilar true stories but it did not scare me at all!

Or meaby because I’m more of a dark side pearson that it does not scare me! Go figure!

It wasn’t just the stomping. The house had a demon in it. The ouijie moved by itself and busted into flames. The boyfriend provoked it, things kept getting worse until the chick was possessed and killed him. The monster was never shown, so it leaves it to the imagination, it can be as terrifying as the mind makes it. It’s not so much the movie was scary, the basic concept. I think another thing that may of been terrifying is perhaps the way it was made. It was displayed to be the recordings of a couples’ experience, as if it were their video, kind of like the blair witch project. People may get sucked into the movie and forget it’s not a real recording.
