Why did my hair change textures?

HELP!!! My hair used to be silky smooth and long, without split ends and was brown, but as soon as I got my hair layered, it turned wavy and super frizzy and full of split ends! I know puberty can change hair tesxture, but I really like my old hair! If I grow it out so it’s an inch above my bellybutton and properly layered will it go straight again? My hair grows really fast btw! Thank you! Any advice is helpful!

well, cutting your hair shouldn’t have made it wavy unless you have some natural curl in there somewhere that once you got the layers it bounced up! As far as the split ends and the texture change my guess is the why used a razor on you? which will freigh the ends to appear they are split which really they are just texurized which gives you more volume. for you the best advice is to use products that will help you and hide the damge. use a shine serum or a smoothing agent when your hair is wet and then again after it is dry to eliminate the frizz. Use a professional product tho it will last longer and a little bit goes a long way… thermal protectant spray if your straightening and blow drying..letting it grow is only gonna make it longer.. take care of your hair with the right products and it will look great! If your wondering yes I am a hairdresser..lol

Thanx sooo much! Yes they did use a razor, but I do actually have some slpit ends. Most are gone now:) also I have been using thermal protectant spray ever since I first straightened/ curled my hair, which I barely ever do! I respect your answer sooo much! <3
