Why cant I finish anything I start?

I’ve been like this for ever. I start something and never finish it. I’ve never started and completed anything in my life:(. I’m 18 have no job no life really and I’ll stay up all might and sleep all day. I dropped outta school so I have no education. How can I change? Should I set monthly goals or should take a different approach?

To be honest with you first you have to measure success is it money or being happy? I started a very lucrative business with my father at the age of 14. I soon Realized I had attention deficit disorder at the age of 18 (about 2 months ago). I dropped out in 8th grade on my 16th birthday. After that all hell broke lose in the family then business went south at that point. Now I have a crummy ged, crappy job, very little true education although, I scored above average on the ged. Now im stuck with a sold business plan to end this nightmare, but just like the problem you have, I can’t finish anything I start.

Overview: What is true success? I define it as really doing something you enjoy. Money on proves you were lucky, or have sincere dedication.

O and the sleeping problems stay up till 9pm then go to bed. works trust me I used to stay up playing wow and eve-online.

Try setting extremely small goals for yourself to complete as jazlovetoskate said. You won’t be able to stop the waking and sleeping hours yet so don’t even attempt that. Try doing something online if it’s the computer you’re on all night. Try getting up five minutes earlier everyday for a week or two. Then carry that time up to another five minutes. It’ll eventually work after a long while. You can start a business online or school online. Don’t worry too much though. You’ll eventually grow out of it because first step is admitting that you have a problem. The rest will come in soon enough. Good luck!

Fortunately you’re still very young - plenty of time to get on the right track but only if YOU make the effort and don’t expect it to be handed to you - you certainly have within your power to change you sleep/awake hours to what they should be then my priority would be to get an education for MYSELF so I have a chance at a bright successful future - either back to school or online GED - set small goals that lead up to big goals - also attend church, that’s what really got me on the right track to success…I wish you the very best !!

sounds like you know what you need to do. quit planning and start doing. you need to pull an all DAYer and get your sleep schedule back on thrack with the majority of the world. that will make a world of difference. if you really have no clue where to start… try finishing highschool or getting a ged. get a job and save your money.

haha you sound a bit like me! expect my school kicked me out and I dont have a job because I hate work. fortunatly for you you are still pretty young and its good that you want to do something about it, instead of waking up when your say 25 and then realising… yes you could try those aproaches. you could even set yourself small weekly or daily goals..start off with a small goal and then work your way up. you could even try getting into a college or uni or tafe or something if you feel like you need a bit more of an education
