Why are artists always the last rung of societys ladder?

I think it has something to due with the lack of awareness of such artists. What do people on average notice more? A rapper or a sculptor? Modern times don’t acknowledge their art work so its left out at times. I think it has something to do with the media, the media is what usually spreads out to people what is ‘’cool’’ and what isn’t. I honestly find artwork like that of MichelAngelo to be astoundingly beautiful but not that many people are aware of such artworks. Overall though it has a lot to due with the lack of awareness that people have with artists. I would like it if people changed that for the better.

P.S. It also has a lot to do with the type of art people want to look at. Someone that doesn’t like sculpting isn’t going to want to see that type of art right? I personally like all types of art, they all portray a similar message differently. The elegance of art is what really gets me :)
