~why~?

Ok so I was in church one day and I walked out because I didnt want to be a hypocrite because im an atheist and this lady told me I was just a child and that I didnt know better and she smaked me I didnt do any thing to her But do you think its wrong for 14 15 16 17 yr olds to become atheist because they really think there is no god ?

Answer #1

Yes, you can believe what you want, but if you still live under your parents roof, it may be wise to go to church purely to keep them happy. As for that woman who smacked you, she was out of order and that’s assault.

Answer #2

It’s not wrong at all, as long as they had the opportunity to decide for themselves.

My parents are Christians, and although they made sure that my sister and I understood all the fundamentals of Christianity, they allowed us to decide for ourselves.

My sister is Pagan and I am Buddhist.

By the way, this woman who smacked you? That’s assault.

Answer #3

RIGHT ITS LIKE WTF BUT SHE WAS AN OLD LADY LIKE 40 MAYBE SO WHY BOTHER RIGHT

Answer #4

Actually, hitting someone is battery not assault.

Assault is is the threat of violence.

Battery is the violence.

They often come together. The process of preparing to cause someone else bodily harm often constitutes assault. Someone picking up a knive, pipe, or bat in a threatening way would constitute assault and if they hit you that would be battery.

Back to the question, religious differences have been a frequent cause of violence. Jesus taught peace so it is rather ironic that a Christian struck you.

Answer #5

That crap happens to me.With me it’s mostly because of the way I dress, and yes and even believe to, but still X( There’s nothing wrong with being an atheist… to tell you the truth I’m not a part of any religion, and I’m not sure what the heck I am religion wise either. lolz It was wrong for that woman to do that to you… NO ONE can stop you from believing the way you do no matter what. Only you can choose what you believe in.

Answer #6

Let me appologise for this womans actions. A church (and especialy a cristian church) is a place for non-believers. You should feel welcome at church. Sorry. This was wrong of her. Please dont think that all church goers are like that. That was foolish behavior on her part.

Answer #7

* SHE WAS AN OLD LADY LIKE 40 MAYBE

Gee thanks. Those of us 40+ appreciate being called ‘old’.

But to your question. There’s nothing wrong with disbelief at any age.

Answer #8

this lady told me I was just a child and that I didnt know better and she smaked me

…well… sue her…

Answer #9

Not at all. Believe what you believe. It’s your life. Hell, I became a witch at round 12 Boy was I a target for bible thumpers I decided to study both religions, witchcraft to feed my own hunger & christanity so I could carry out a debate. Now I know well over 30 different occult practicies & my bibical knowledge in on par with biblical scholars(only wish my spelling wa as good, lol) Believe what you want, but I think it’s still a good thing to study the religion so when people atart to badger you, you can turn the tables & they’ll leave you alone

Answer #10

Create your own relationship wit GOD allow yourself to trust your inner soul, that guides you too GOD you do not have to be religious be spiritual!

Answer #11

Personally, I think by the time you hit your teens you’re old enough to understand and believe in what you want. However, some claim to be atheists solely for the fact that it appears to be “the thing”. For example, for awhile some teenagers claimed to be bisexual, even though they had never even looked at someone of their own sex, because it too was “the thing” (weird comparison, I know. Go to my school, you’d understand why I’m comparing them :P). But if you really do believe this and you haven’t just become one to fit in, then fine. It’s your beliefs, and I don’t believe anyone has the right to tell you it’s wrong. That woman had no right to hit you, and I suggest that you don’t go back to the church if you ever do decided to give Christianity another chance.

On another note, I cracked up when you called her, who you claimed to be about 40, an “old lady”. :’D
