Well sure you can ek your plans and everything, If you are sure that you can ake it out on your own outhere. Your dad might be fracking out on you because he wans you to be indepentet, that when you make disitions, like the one that you are making, leavin the house and driving off, you will be ready, you know to make it on your own. So yeah, go ahed and leave, but Are you ready? To be alone, to get your food, the gas it will cost and all that? If yes, then sure, you are an adult.

I presume you have worked hard and gotten some good grades, I also assume that you are talking about college or university, and a summer job, however the economy has not quite recovered in abundance just yet so your Dad needs to mellow a bit. You may not be able to just walk out of school and into a job. Here is the best of both worlds, look for the jobs and keep papa happy, even find one if you can, if offered a position let them know when you can start, like say when you get back from your trip. You do need time to chill and de-stress from your school work. Take care and good luck in the future.
