Who can help me with this? Should I get back together with him?

Okay in 8th grade there was this boy in my 2nd and 3rd class and my second hour was chorus and when we were on the risers he would always be looking at me and when I looked at him he would smile and turn his head quick, then later in the year about the second to last day of school he called me up and we were talking and I asked him if he liked anyone, cause I liked him a lot, and he said he liked me, so I got really excited and I told him that I liked him too. So he asked me to be his girlfriend and of course I said yes, so during the summer I went to visit my mom in texas and I hadnt had my phone for a while and he thought I was ignoring him so he said he didn’t want to be with then. So I got sad and stuff. And then in 9th grade he told me he still liked me and I did too so we weren’t technically going out but he wanted to kiss me and I did too so at school I kissed him and stuff and after school we were hanging out and when I had to leave I had to leave right then and there so I couldnt waste any time. So I tried to leave but he didnt want me to leave without a kiss but I really had to go so he got upset that I couldn’t kiss him. And im still in 9th but that was at the beginning of the year and so now he still likes me. Sorry for writting so much but should I be with him?
