Is there anyway to keep white shirts clean and white?

I love white shirts and how they look on you. But I can never seem to keep them “clean and white” without getting any stains on them. Usually on my white shirts I get weird stains that I have no idea how they got there. Any tips on keeping them white and clean?

Answer #1

A whitening washing powder will be good, and a stain removing spray could work. I have a white duvet and I always get stains like makeup on it. There is this spray I got at the supermarket and you spray it on the stain, wait 20 minutes, then wash it. It’s really good, maybe you could find something similar where you live. Also when you wash your white clothing, don’t wash it with your dark clothing or it will get stains of colours on it. Make sure your makeup isn’t coming off on the shirts and try to wash your hands more often when you are wearing a white shirt because it’s often just oily fingerprints that leave the stains.

Answer #2

Cold or hot water? I’ve heard both and I don’t know. What is that spray called?

Answer #3

put bleach in the laundry machine

Answer #4

wash em?

Answer #5

I’m not sure what the spray is called sorry. I think the brand is ‘friend’ and it’s pink. I ran out about a week ago and haven’t brought more yet otherwise I would check the bottle for you. I think it’s better to wash whites with hot water as it will penetrate the dirt on the clothes really well.

Answer #6

But the stains don’t come out!

Answer #7

Ya lay off the sloppy joes

Answer #8

K thanks!

Answer #9

You can always bleach the shirt if it’s white.

Answer #10

uhhh yea dont get them dirty…..bleach + washing machine=clean whites

Answer #11

Actually, it’s more of a creamy white, so I don’t think bleach would workk.

Answer #12

Bleach can yellow white clothing so it’s not always the best thing to add it. It’s almost impossible to not get a white shirt dirty. No matter how hard you try something always ends up on it. If you have a really bad stain do NOT wash it in hot water. Hot water can set the stain in. As soon as you notice the stain use cold water and some soap and try to get some of it out before you wash it. Then put some laundry soap on the stain and let it sit for a few minutes then wash it. It usually works for me. My only problem is after a few washes my white shirts look more gray than white.
