Which store sells the cheapest glasses?

Which store sells the cheapest glasses or has great offers? My medical insurance don’t cover for glasses and I need glasses to drive. I was also thinking about contact lenses so fill me in for some info on that too if you think that contact lenses are better. Also are contact lenses cheaper?

Contact lenses require a more thorough exam than one for spectacles. Contact lenses require a lot of upkeep. If money is an issue contacts are not what you need.

If you have a prescription you can shop around for the cheapest glasses. I notice Sears optical has specials from time to time like standard glasses for $79 or two pair for $99. You won’t be able to pick the coolest designer frames but they should work fine.

If you don’t need them in a hurry there are internet optometrists that sell prescription glasses for as little as $8. You will need to measure your Papillary Distance (PD) if it isn’t on your prescription (and it usually isn’t). Some of my coworkers have glases from Zenni Optical that they are happy with.

If you have a strong or difficult prescription than you may need to go to a real optimistrist though.
