where wud I find a free site 2 download a sound card 4 my laptop??

theres a red x on my speacker down d bottum rite hand coner of my laptop and I can get my sound 2 work can any 1 help pls??

check what type of soundcard you have installed on your computer. Then you will need to reinstall the drivers for it.

ok try this:

if you have a red cross on your volume icon in teh task bar youll have it in your device manager too…

right click my computer and select properties…

click device manager… or go: start - run - type ‘devmgmt.msc’ into the box and hit ok.

look for your sound icon and expand it…

now right click your sound card/onboard and select ‘update driver software’

make a note of what its called too.. for instance I use the xonar d2x so we can look for the driver ourselves: see image

My Acer Extensa laptop lost its sound. Went to Acer website and downloaded and installed it. It said ‘’the installation was successful and is ready for use’’. However, another notification from Windows says ‘’There was an unexpected error in the property page. Please close the property page and try again.’’ Please tell me where this enigmatic ‘property page’ is found to close it. My pc is still soundless. Thanks and Cheers
