Where would you go if Russia and the US had fought in the Cold War?
During the Cold War the two superpowers in the east and west (Soviet Union and the USA) had used brinkmanship to heighten the tensions of war. If they began nuclear bombing each other where would you go?
ireland. its neutral, they speak english, and its ireland.
Actually, back then it was the US and the USSR.
The strategy behind the cold war was Mutually Assured Destruction or MAD. The idea is that after a nuclear exchange the results would be so devestating that even the victor would loose far more than they could ever hope to gain. Except for a few close calls it worked surprisingly well. Brinkmanship is usually a dangerous game because there is always the danger that when you try to get your opponent to back down by raising the stakes that they won’t.
Not sure what the current thinking is but during the Cold War it was believed that the atmosphere in the Northern and Southern hemispheres were fairly independent. Nuclear fallout from the Northern hemisphere Should mainly stay there. Since I’m already in Texas the logical place for me to go would be South.
it doesnt matter bc most likely the whole world whould have been destroyed bc of the great number of nuclear weapons possesed by both sides and all the debree that would have been released into the atmoshpere by the explosions. so for this reason im going to hope Heaven.
id stay in the UK please…
I think we cant go anywhere. the best place to go is where the place is in peace. just wait for the incident to come, when the incident is on our face, it’s easier to analyze and decide what to do. so better dont ask now first
I think that at our times both Russia and America are “observant” of the potential of the nuclear bomb and wouldnt want to dirty ther hands with the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people. I highly doubt that they would decide to go this far only a terrorist group would simply because they want to “change” how people are and see that absolute destruction is the only solution and that they can create something new from the ashes. But yeah I doubt they would use a nuke now adays
ahh ireland is the best country everrr because its were I live because im cool lol
