where does getting a tattoo hurt least

im getting a tattoo in 4 months (when I turn 16) and I either want a lock over my heart, or “Alex” (my dad’s name) on my wrist. Just wondering which would hurt least. also have you got any ideas for a tattoo? thanks. x

the legal age is 16 where I am (new zealand). my mum says shes not thrilled but that I can if I get something sensable and that means something.

Answer #2

I heard that it hurts like hell on the wrist but you never know

Answer #3

can you get one at your age? Or is it 18? I’ve always heard that it’s 18, but if you put it on yourself there isn’t anything anyone can do about it, as my friend Jon did.

Answer #4

Well wrist is probrably the most sensitive area for you to get a tattoo, the least painfull areas are your upper arm, and your shoulder blades after that anywhere with a lot of nerves can be really painfull, but wrist probrably is one of the most!

Asked that question 50 years ago and the answer I got was ‘ Up on the Pike” that was an amusement park in Long Beach Calif. They assumed that I be so drunk that I would not feel it. I always wanted a tattoo of “an angle on my shoulder” . Never knew what an angle looked like. I did not meet that angle until I was out of the Navy.

I have a tattoo that says “In Memory of Dad” on my arm, it was my first tattoo and on my right bicep. Didnt hurt much at all, the needle moves so fast it just feels like your being poked a lot. Just avoid areas of your body where nerves get condenced, or where bone is close to the exterior.
