Thankyou! I do my own colour. I will check out image hair products because I have damaged my hair with peroxide. I have a strong reddish undertone to my hair so it’s hard to lift. I like a few highlights though.

I Use Image hair products. They are what saved my hair. I won’t use anything else now. I keep telling myself that a few highlights would do me wonders,lol I just haven’t convinced myself, lol I really like the color of your hair!

You are a year younger than I am and you look great!!! If you are feeling stressed, then you need a pamper yourself day. It will do wonders for your outlook!

I find that with the dearer shampoos like Matrix. They do sets sometimes with great price offers and they last forever. You have encouraged me to carry on with the brown hair route (darker rather than lighter)! This city is not that blonde-biased actually: lots of women dye their hair black and there is a big West-Indian and Asian community. This is good because there are so many different shapes sizes, styles, colours…

That’s a terrible trauma for your mind and body. A really loss of control. I should think it’s like having to just completely let go and trust. This is a lesson for me. But you’re married now and looking great. It would be a shame to mess up your hair with corrosive lightening treatments I admit, but a few highlights tend to be OK and there are great conditioners you can use to stop your hair drying out.

I think right now I am afraid of messing my hair up. I had to have 13 surgeries in less than 3 years and that really wreaked havoc on my hair. I have finally gotten it back into a great condition and I think I’m afraid of messing it up again. I had some really great highlights and lowlights in it for my wedding and I really loved that. Hmmm, now you have me thinking about getting that done again,lol

Thanks for that! I just realized I had the wrong age on my profile,lol I am 42, not 52,lol I guess I need to learn to type better,lol My hair has always had the red color to it. I have been thinking about doing the blond highlights again but I really don’t get out much so I find it hard to justify the expense even though I love them!

I really like the people on here. I guess that’s why I keep coming back! Everyone seems really willing to help. You don’t see the internet trolls on here very often and when they do find their way here they are taken care of pretty quickly.

This is true. Thanks for the complement though! I guess it’s an identity thing too because I had black hair for ages and then I went back to blonde highlights and now I don’t know what look I want. It’s about knowing who I am and expressing that if you know what I mean. I guess not everyone feels so linked with their appearance. I am changing my job, the whole way I operate at the moment and so the uncertainty is manifesting like this.

Thankyou,that,s very nice of you to say so! I think an effect of stress and exhaustion is perhaps a kind of dysmorphia where you feel like you look really bad. But, I really do need a revamp too. We all do sometimes!

I think you should go … to a spa for a weekend. Go to a really upscale salon and change your hair to. A new sassy haircut always makes me feel like a million bucks.

I think you look incredibly young for your age! I like your hair colour too. I have just seen the Sex and the City film and I love the way the producers cast four very different girls for the central roles. I am into make-up, fashion and hair so I guess I like to look at how people dress and the colours they choose. I had blonde highlights and I put brown over them (semi-permanent while I think about what to do). It’s hard to back down from blonde and red colours because they are so in-your-face. I have been very blessed by the warmth of some of the people who have answered my question on this site. It appears to me that Americans find it easier to be warm and friendly than most Brits. I am quite open with people and that’s fine in female working class environments here, but I am in a hard-headed intellectual kind of career and it’s isolating.

I buy mine off of Ebay. Image products are a little more expensive but they go a long way. I have been using the bottle I have now for over 3 months and still have half a bottle.
