Where do I begin on managing money?

I am currently working at bdubs. I get paid arond 75-120 dollars everyother week. I need to save up 3,000 dollars here and im hoping to get at least half by march but I am terrible at managing it and I almost need a game plan on evrything bc I just always blow it.

The first thing is to set up a budget. Look at your non-negotiable items first- heat, electric, food, gas for car, etc. Cut out any unneeded spending.

Answer #2

Save half of what you make each week. Put it aside. Take the other half and spend it [wisely] on any extra stuff. I really do understand how hard it is not just to spend your hard earned money, but ask yourself “Do I really need this?” Or say to yourself “I will probably wear this twice, so why am I buying it?” Good luck!

Making $120 every 2 weeks it would take you 25 paychecks if you saved every single one.

It would take you roughly 1 year to save up $3000; saving every last penny you made if you made $120 biweekly. You will see likely 6-7 paychecks by March. Thats $840 tops.

Being paid bi-weekly you get 26 paychecks a year. If we average out a paycheck to $100 it will take you 30 paychecks. So you are looking at about 13 months before you have the money. 60 months if you save half of each paycheck.

ok… I’ve just recently spent £800 on my PC upgrade which is around $1300…

im crap with money and the way I did it was with a savings account and every time I was paid I put in what I could afford to my savings account which per month was around £50 to £75…

  • the determination to succeed..

so yeah id say: just open a savings account in teh same bank as your current account and just stick in what you can afford each month and dont forget you must want to put it in the saving account… even if you just start off with say 10 quid in each week which would be $20 a fortnight 4 you
