Where can you play Age of Empires online?

Yea, but gameranger is populated by pompous idiots with a vastly inflated sence of their own importance. True you can play the whole series there, but the atmosphere is rubbish and your more likely to get cussed out there than anywhere else

You have to have the game on your own computer. Be connected to the Internet. Start up the game and go to Multiplayer from the menu. I forget what the options are, but one will be LAN and that means between your computer and another computer in the same house as you (off the same IP). So, you will want to choose the other one. Then just join a game from the list or create your own and let others play with you. You can even password protect your game and only invite in your friends.

I searched “Age Of Empires” Online, But you need to have the CD of the game and a Zone dot com Account (Free) to play, thus it is in my research & Option, that to play with others online, you must first purchase the game, I do however have the link of you wish to have it e-mail to you, that would allow you to do this, if you already have the cd game.

Gamespy is very exhausty I need someone knows how to play AOE online at gamespy . I am tired and bored me and my friends tried many times NOWAY.

Yeah they closed down zone a long time ago and its a sad thing too it was so aweosome playing online. Oh well, im sure we’ll find other ways.. anyone know any sites? actually I know 1 but I haven’t tried it yet, gamespy. download gamespy and you can play any of your fav games online as long as you have it ofcourse. last time I went I asked this guy to play but you have to choose which day and which time you couldn’t play it right there and then, I dont know if there are any chatrooms where you can start games but im sure there is so somebody look into it and let me know 4 sure! And if you dont have the aoe cd, download “age of empires expansion: rise of rome” which is free, and it’s not a trial even though it says so, its just a demo (Which can be played online - but only for that game!) p.s. many, many people play aoe expansion, but if you want good gameplay in single or multiplayer get aoe 3 asian dynasties.

I am having the same problem you are having, but if you launch the zone.com from the game menu, the site that comes up is tells you that they no longer support the game there anymore, however if you read farther down, it tells you that you can play though gamespy.com, but you need to pay to play!!!
