When you join the army?
When you join the army in the u.s. Are you in it for life or is there a certain amount of time you can serve and leave or something? Please explain how this works if you join :/
^^ lol… pink… crayon…
Oh, when I said Tedious, I was using it place for the word “Boring”
Strauss–
It depends on what you mean as tedious. When I got out I had 3 years left in the RR, Each year I’d get a form to fill out. (Basically, they were just looking for changes in your life that would affect your being recalled.) On the form was the privacy policy which stated that ‘Execution of this form is MANDATORY’. Being the sh*t that I was, I executed the first two forms (Firing squad of 1 and hanging by thread) and sent them in. The third form I filled out with pink crayon in letters approximately 4 inches tall.
^ aint Filling out paperwork JUST OH SO MUCH FUN.
sorry. could’nt resist being a bit sarcastic ^_^’’
dont know bout the rest of you people, but I’d rather be on the Frontlines where some heavy action is. then filling out paperwork. or any other tedious act. (tedious is the right word for that right? lol)
Whatever the time you sign up, there is a 6 year commitment overall, meaning you might serve 4 active duty, then 2 in the ‘Ready Reserve”. The RR is not really serving, just filling out paperwork yearly.
there’s always the chance though that after the standard 4 years, before you could leave, you could get hit with “Stop-Loss” and you’ll have to go back into service.
4 years is the minimum untill your like 70 or something is when you have to leave. After the first four years if you reenlist you ahve to go for a certin extensive time depending on what branch officer or voultary entry all kinds of factors wigh in.
In the U.S. Army, 4 years is what everyone does. then I think they can choose to stay or make the military they’re career.
4 years but you can reenlist if you want after 4 years
