When should I sign a contract if it is about six pages long?

Many times when I am going to sign a contract, it has too many pages to read and sometimes, even difficult words that I don’t even understand. Should I sign at that moment and assume it is alright? What if someone is pressuring you to sign?

Answer #1

I NEVER sign anything, a receipt, a check, a contract (no matter how big or small) without reading and understanding (or trying to understand) it. If someone is pressuring you, tell them to back off. Take your time.
If you have time and you’re really worried about the words you don’t understand, look them up or… ask your parents (or lawyer).

Answer #2

Don’t ever sign any contract unless you are 100% sure that you know what you are entering to. If you don’t understand what’s written in the contract, ask an authority like lawyer or the person-in-charge to explain to you what is included in the terms of the contract. Be careful with people who are forcing you to sign, it can be a sign that something is wrong, and you will end up the victim in the long run.
