When is it considered over taxation

Voluntary taxes would not work because no one wants to pay money and only get a portion back. You can’t pay a tax for selective things either because the government will just figur eout a way to transfer funds from one part to another in order to get the money to go where they want to go.

Reading your profile our political views are radically different, I look at what has happened in the past and figure the same situation would happen again. Meaning I don’t think anarchy would work in the first place, and yes I have done my reading.

I am not saying I agree with any of the current taxes, I don’t want to pay them either, but I would like for the government to spend my money a little more prudently. Take military spending. Yes it is high, but do people understand why? A 50 cent washer in the military has a military specification (mil spec) number to prove it is what it is. This number lets companies sharge significantly more for that washer, say $1.50. If you are in the military you will get in trouble if you use something without a mil spec number, even if you know without a doubt in your mind that there is a store down the road with a washer sale for 10 cents a washer and that particular washer is the exact same washer you need/is required. The military has its own supply system to order things from and a person cannot go outside of that unless the situation is dire. To me that is just stupid and yet my taxes pay for it.

Also you did not really ask a question, but both Canada and the EU have higher taxes than the US to compensate for more social programs. Most notably universal (or something like it) healthcare.
