How long to gauge your ear?

How long would take to gauge someones ears to a 00 or a 0 from a normal piercing size? And what would be the best choice for an expander? Like which one would work best and easiest.

Well I’m from England so I measure mine in millimetres :P But I stretch every 2 weeks using metal rods and go up 4mm every time :)

my ears are at a 10 gauge and my plan is to make it to a 0 or 00 but i looked it up on the internet and it said the best and safest way to go up a size is every month or better put 4 to 5 weeks between sizes so it gives plenty of time to heal and a helpful hint when you go to gauge them take a hot shower first makes it easier and less painful and never skip sizes it can cause tearing
