When he goes college?

Okay so my boyfriend’s a senior and he’s going to college in august. his school is 3 hours away, so he won’t be able to come home every weekend. I don’t want to break up with him and I want our relationship to last, but I’m just not sure I’ll be able to handle it. has anybody gone through this before? and if so, what helped to make it work or what made it fail?

please help me =[

when I was a senior, my boyfriend moved to North Carolina for college, and I stayed here in RI. It lasted a year. It didn’t end due to the distance, although, I won’t lie to you, distance does make it a lot more difficult. It was hard because we were both experiencing new things in life and we were able to talk about them but it felt really different then before. It was a big adjustment. When he came home, it was like no time passed at all, and eventually we broke up because during that time, you change somewhat and we learned we wanted different things. It can work, but it takes work. Try to spend the time you have now, enjoying each other and not thinking about him leaving. 3 hrs isnt so far away that he cant come home for weekends every now and then. I was about a day drive away from my ex. Just keep in mind, that things take their course naturally, and even if it doesnt work out and it might hurt, things will be ok. Good luck

IF YOU GUYS LOVE EACHOTHER, DON’T WORRY, YOU’LL MAKE IT THROUGH. I CAN ONLY SEE MY FIANCEE ON SUNDAYS. SOMETIMES I GO LONGER THAN THAT WITHOUT SEEING HIM. MY ADVICE IS JUST TO KEEP IN TOUCH THROUGH PHONE, EMAIL, OR LETTERS EVEN. DON’T WORRY I’M SURE YOU TWO WILL BE FINE. =]]

I haven’t gone thorugh that situation, but here are some tips that maybe can help… First of all, he’s your boyfriend and that means he’ll understand you and you can talk with him, so first of all I think you should talk to him about your feelings of him going away to college. Second, if he does leave, NEVER “loose” communication, talk to him as often as possible, and never feel it’s weird or anything like that. Also show how interested you are in his life over there, and don’t show you’re jelous (cause that’s the worst thing for a relationship!).

if you two love each other enough, it’ll work out, but it won’t be easy.
