when a guy hits on you, how to turn him down gently?

the other day there was this guy. My friends said he was hitting on me and asked if I had been flirting with him first. I wasnt. I was just trying to be pleasant. He worked in the store we were in. When we were checking out I said something, and I felt a little awkward cause he kept smiling and looking (Almost staring) at me. After I said a comment about something, he said “that was really adorable.” I was so shocked that I just kinda looked down and felt awkward. Then he said “alright, you have a great day.” he didnt say it rudely. But after I left I was like, “What just happened?” I wasnt interested. the fact is that im 15 and people say I look about 17. The guy had to be about 19-21. what shud I have done? was I rude?

lol no if thats how it hapd then no you werent rude..just that you didnt expect it…dont worry about it..im sure it will happen more than once..just try not to lead them on ..if you get hit on a lot then your lucky..lol..at least you know guys are interested even if your not..just tell them no thanx.. you already have a boyfriend..even if you dont..
