When a guy cheats will he do it again ...

Okay this is a big one so …please help me ok. Me and my well husband started going out about 5 years ago he pretty much cheated on me with more than 8 girls!…or may be more …dont know …a month after we had our first baby he went to a party ..and came back with hicky’s all over his neck and body ..I know he did something but ..he denies it ..I forgived him again ..how stupid I know =[ now he is always hurting me for example he punched me several times in my head and body …he always argues with me even when I feel like telling him how I feel he takes it in a bad way …he says im stupid and worthless . So he pretty much thinks he’s perfect…what should I do ? Im so confused when I leave him he tells me okay …then hours later he’s coming back with tears is this guy okay or what??? Please help me guys …em I doing the right thing to keep him or should I leave him??…dont forget I have a 7 month old daughter with him.
