What's it called when you dye your hair light on the top and underneath it's a darker color such as brown?

Answer #1

their called underlays - underlays are where there are two tones that are on the top and under.

Answer #2

They’re called highlights and you can get this done by consulting with a colorist at a salon. Just don’t strip your hair because it can get damaged only do this if it is absolutely necessary.

Answer #3

idk but u could call it 2 toned….why do u ask, cuz if u want it done like that then just say it like u explained it here or show them a picture….pictures are always helpfl if u cannot explain what you want done properly as it makes sure there is not misunderstandings ^^ and that u wont hate ur stylest for doing the wrong thing >< lol

Answer #4

no, it isn’t highlights. highlights are when you lighten streaks of ones hair, not the underneath and the top being different.

Answer #5

That’s how my hair is. Except for mines black underneath. Just explain to your hair dresser how you wan’t it that’s the safest bet, or get a picture on line! I really don’t think there’s a specific “Name” for it.

Answer #6

I might do my hair like that, that’s why i ask and if it had a name i didn’t want to sound like an idiot trying to describe it to my hairstylist :b

Answer #7

Answer #8
