What will happen if I am taking st.johns wort daily & need a xanax?

I got off zoloft for depression and started taking st. John’s wort because back in the day that is what they used before all these other meds came out and I am doing really good. Feel much better actually, but I do still have a panic attack from time to time and the doc gives me 0.05 mg of xanax to take to calm me down. With the zoloft I could take the xanax when needed but can I with the st. John’s wort?

You need to talk to the doctor. You’re not supposed to mix medication (yes even if it is supposedly natural) without talking to the doctor.

And yes, St John’s Wort may have been what they used back in the day, but they also used leeches to suck blood back in the day…
