what to do about dying hair???

I originally have medium brown hair. I usually dye is a dark brown or black color. I seen loreal’s latest line of colors, since my roots are starting to show, decided to go back my natural color. When I dyed it my roots are a nice medium brown but the rest of my hair seemed to stay the darker color. WHAT DO I DO?????? Should I try to redye it????

you can’t dye a dark color a lighter color very well unless you apply some sort of bleaching product. Personally i suggest letting your hair grow out and just cutting out the darker dye. Depending on the length of your hair then yes, this might take awhile. Otherwise if you go to a salon they can probably lighten the darker dyed hair without totally bleaching it out and then you’ll be able to dye everything a more even shade.

Try using the dye that is for gray coverage. It tends to get some of the more stubborn hair. Also try getting a lighter shade than what you want, that way it can blend in with the dark to make the perfect shade. Letting your hair grow out would take a couple years. And, if you go to the salon, instead of having them, lighten the darker hair and then YOU dye it. Why don’t you just let them dye it? It would be so much nicer to you hair, and it would be about 10 dollars cheaper.
