What that means that you overqualified for a job.

I dont know if this is true but they can tell you that you overqualified for a job and then they dont give you the job I mean what they want because they say you need more experience or they say that you overqualified to me both are bad excuses, so be overqualified is a bad thing I didnt know.

Answer #1

Ahh not only that but most jobs that say you are overqualifed will not pay you enough someone with an education or lots of exprience will pobably ask for more or to much money that the company cant or wont give any thats what they told my sister.

Answer #2

In addition to the problem of employees jumping ship as soon as something better comes along overqualified individuals are often bored and frustrated.

Due to the IS/IT employment market we have computer operators with bachelors degrees in business administration or computer science. They took entry level positions because it was all they could find. In general they they are bored and probably ask themself, “I studied 4 years and took out student loans for this?”

Unhappy employees are rarely good employees even if they stick around.

Usually if an prospective employer tells an interviewee, “Your overqualified for this job”, it means that your education or experience is so far beyond that of the typical person holding the job that they don’t think you’ll stay in the job because you won’t be satisfied with it. Right or wrong, that’s probably what they are thinking. They might even wonder why you are applying for a job that is beneath what they think is appropriate for you.
