what: should I stop talking to him for a while?

Alright well, I was going out with my first love/my best friend for 16 months. He broke up with me. Well, he told me he wanted to be single for a while but would want to go back out with me in highschool (which is in 4 months) we have about 5-6 weeks left of the 8th grade. And I try talking to him, but whenever I do he acts like he wants nothing to do with me. He told me he still likes talking to me, but its weird because I’m his ex. He also told me that he’s afraid to talk to me to much because he’ll end up falling in love with me again and he doesn’t want that yet. So he’s pretty much an ass to me too. and he acts like he doesn’t care about me either, but I can tell he does. I want to still talk to him because I wanna keep our friendship, and I do want him to keep liking me. So like what should I do? Give him space for a little bit?(if so for how long) or should I continue to try to talk to him and see if everything goes back to normal?

Give him space, you dont know what youve got till its gone right? and if he does realise then hope you happy together but if he dont then move on he cant be worth the heartake :)

Move on. Don’t you ever let someone treat you poorly and then go back out with them and provide them with comfort when they made you feel badly. You deserve better, don’t allow yourself to accept anything less.
