What should I do to make the situation less awkward & embarrassing?

I’ve known this guy for quite a while now and we’ve been together before. Together as in boyfriend & girlfriend. It wasn’t all good as I found it really weird to be around him & that feeling wouldn’t go away, so we ended it. After that, we didn’t really talk much & he moved on, so did I.

Eventually we got talking again and I’m starting to miss him & want it back to how it used to be. I like him again, a lot. I got my friend to ask him loads of questions about who he likes and if he misses anyone. He said a few peoples names to who he likes and three for who he misses. I was in both of the lists. My friend gave him many hints on who it was and in the end she told him & he said he had the idea it was me. We then started talking on msn and he told me that he also likes me and he misses me and wants us to talk more. He told my friend that him knowing will not make anything different and not awkward at all. I didn’t believe that much as I know it will be and it is. Today at school he came over and we spoke for a bit as break is only 15 minutes and he came over after about 10. So we didn’t talk much. It was really weird as now I know that he knows I like him even though we was just talking how we would of before. Then at lunch time he normally comes over and talks to me, today he didn’t. I just didn’t want my friend to tell him as I knew this would happen. Now it’s just going to be how it was before where I can barely speak to him and avoid him a lot.
