What should I do, I can't make these feelings go away?

I’ve been thinking about my ex everyday, since we broke up, for the last 3 years. I think I love him. His last name is Jones. I just got this family reunion invitation from the Jones family. I just found out my grandma’s maiden name is Jones. Should I be worried? I was just talking to her about the reunion and she randomly said I wouldn’t want you marrying into the Jones family. I feel so weird. Should I really just forget about him. Jones is a popular name but I still feel wrong. I can’t make my feelings for him go away, so what should I do?

Well first off, like you said, Jones is a very common last name and chances are he is not related to your grandma or its a very distant relationship. second, you broke up with him three years ago. I hate to be a debbie downer here, but it may be time to move on to another guy. I understand you still have feelings from him and thats normal, but Id still try dating other people. You’d be suprised how fast those feelings go away after you start dating a new guy you like.
