What should I do about not having a social life apart from my boyfriend?

I have no social life apart from hanging out with my boyfriend. He has mates who he goes to clubs with and sees fairly often, I on the other hand seem to have no friends anymore whatsoever. One of my old best friends goes to college and has her own circle of friends so I never see her, the other never makes any effort despite how many times I’ve tried and with my other friend I am restricted from seeing as my boyfriend despises her and I’m never able to hang out with her because of that. Its really started getting me down and I’ve no one to talk to apart from my sister who lives miles away, I spoke to her earlier and just broke down on the phone, what should I do?

Tell your boyfried to give you some space. Don’t make it sound as if you want to see other people, just a day to yourself would be nice. Go get reaquinted with some old friends. Instead of spending all day with your boyfriend, hang out with friends and him equally. As for the “I’m restricted from seeing her because my boyfriend despises her.”, this is no excuse. He has no right to tell you who to hang out with. If he doesn’t want to be around her, then leave him at home with some of his friends. Hope this helped.

It’s not healthy to have only your boyfriend as a social outlet. I have been there before and when my boyfriend and I broke up after a 1yr 1/2 I had NO friends, no where to sit at lunch, nobody to talk to during 5 minute class changes…It was bad for a couple months, until I got back in with my friends who forgave me for being so far up his butt. You can also get rather annoyed with each other a lot faster if you spend ALL your free time together…maybe start doing stuff with your friends without him every now and then and push him to do the same.

Meet new people I was in the same situation..then he dumped me for another girl and I felt like I had nothing and that I wasn’t worth anything. Get girlfriends that you can hang out with.
