What should I do about my batchmates?

Two of my very friends are committed to each other and I happened to take them out in my car.first the plan was to drop them in their places but they got down half way.I thought that I had made a mistake by leaving them only half way and I sent a message to him and her that “I am sorry I had to drop you guys half way and I am not able forgive myself for what I had done”.after a while I got a message from him that “we guys have reached home and we have no issue about that.so please dont disturb her”.it hurt me a lot and made me think about my relationship with them.please tell me what do I do about this?shall I speak to them as usual or shall I just take a step back?
