What should I bring to boarding school and other questions?

Okay so I really want to go to a boarding school and I have created a list of questions , anyone who can answer them your help is greatly needed.

-what is it like rooming with another person? -should I room alone or in a double? -how do I keep up with the studying? -is it funner then a public school? -how can I get people to talk to me when I go? -is it hard to get financial aid if my parents can’t afford it? -will having low grades now effect me getting into a boarding school? -what type of thing should I bring with me when I go?(a full list would be helpful) -is the homework hard (canadian education) -what is the cheapest but still a good quality school in canada? -tips for studying for tests ?

I’m going to hopefully be entering for my grade 10 year , I am in grade 9 at the moment. I will most likely be going to a canadian boarding school.

Thank you to anyone for there help.

-what is it like rooming with another person? It will probably be awkward at the start, but you will have no choice than to build a great friendship. they will be of the same sex as you. -should I room alone or in a double? I would room in a double, it would be much more fun, though if privacy is a big thing to you then alone would be best. -How do I keep up with the studying? try and study while its still light. before dinner if you can. there will be more distractions after dark than in the afternoon. -Is it funner then a public school? I don’t know, but I think it would be. you are living with these people. you will have closer friends than a public school anyway. -How can I get people to talk to me when I go? it will take a while, maybe 2 months, but after that you will have great friends. just be nice, don’t try and act too cool, and always be open to other people’s opinions. -Is it hard to get financial aid if my parents can’t afford it? there is probably a scholarship, or you could take out a student loan. -Will having low grades now effect me getting into a boarding school? depends what boarding school it is that you want to go to. there are boarding schools for high achievers, that teach attributes like courage and techniques of a successful person. and ones for dropouts, where they focus on behavior and it is very strict. there are all kinds of boarding schools, you need to find one right for you. -What type of thing should I bring with me when I go?(A full list would be helpful) well you need clothes, personal items (toothbrush, hairbrush, gel, razor, soap…) I suggest you keep a diary or journal, it will be cool to look back on. you may or may not need bed linen and pillows, you should bring a few books that you like or a gameboy for when its raining and boring. the school will give you a list if you ask for one of everything you need. take some pictures of your family and friends too. -Is the homework hard (canadian education) I don’t know sorry. -What is the cheapest but still a good quality school in Canada? don’t know. -Tips for studying for tests ? relate everything to something that has happened to you or somebody you know. make stories about everything you need to study, and make poems and raps about stuff. it all really works. also, while taking notes and studying, draw little doodles about the notes beside them, it will help you remember better.

Good luck :) hope I helped.

if you get to choose between a single or double room then: If you want privacy, go for a single. If you want more fun, go for a double.

I had a double and it was better, and at my school they gave you the choice of movement at the end of the first term.

Hope this helps :) x
