What's wrong with my turtle?

I’ve had my red eared slider for eight months. in the past week, he has stopped eating and only sunbathes, he doesn’t go in the water and he doesn’t eat. Today I was looking at him and he had green gunk around his mouth. I’m really worried. I’m going to try to take him to the vet asap. what do you think is wrong with him?

have you been feeding him the right kinds of foods? and nothing that’s been bad for him? what kind of bedding does he have? have any chemicals gotten into his pen or in his water? I would really recommend seeing the vet, because it sounds like you’re turtle isn’t going to be with you very long.

Well the not eating and sunbathing could mean he is getting ready to hibernate. Not sure about the mouth thing though. hope this helps. I am so sorry that this is happening. and hope you only the best.

he could have respatory problem about the green slime

did you move him to another cage because sometimes they need time to adjust if you move them into a different enviorement.

Oh he also could be getting over heated or matter fact under heated

I’ve been trying to fee him everyday, but he won’t eat. :/

im guessing that he has become weak somehow. Have you been feeding him enough recently?
