what’s wrong with Japan’s economy?

Answer #1

I think the better question is what’s right with Japan’s economy. Consider their rule of 20x, eg, that an executive leading a company can only make 20 times the lowest paid employee.

However in the US we have no such laws…and then look at Whole Foods, who gets lauded with praise for capping all executive comp to 27 times the lowest paid worker…it’s no wonder we have such a huge gap between the rich & poor here in the US. :)

Of course, in other areas, such as social security & welfare, I’ve heard there are some serious gaps in the Japanese system, but there are in the system of any capitalistic economy.
