Sorry about the title, haha. Anyways, my 19 year old sister just broke the news yesterday that she is getting MARRIED...NEXT TUESDAY! to her as*hole of a boyfriend who's 18
We have had some rough times with them being together, he is immature and a jerk. But there has to be a reason why she loves him. She got kicked out of the house about 2 months ago and she's been living with her boyfriend ever since. And since he's going to be leaving for the military soon, they figured it would be a good idea to get married now so she will get benefits from him being in the service.
When my mom told me, she also told me that my sister wanted me to be her maid of honor. I started crying. It's going to be the biggest thing I've ever done for someone, not to mention because it's my sister. My mom is taking it extremely hard, she's been in bed crying all day. And I can understand because I know she doesn't want to give her daughter up to somebody that she doesn't like, and doesn't trust. I still don't know what to feel about it, because it's my sister. And I want to be happy for her.
Any thoughts? My family's crazy.
I agree, you have to support her. Smile and tell her you are happy if she is happy. Then be there for her if she needs you. My sister married the king of A-holes. You just have to smile and be polite to him and remember not to sit next to him at family functions or you will want to kill yourself.
smile and wish her the best is all you can do. just let her know if she ever needs you to talk to she can come to you and you won't judge her. If she has issues down the road and feels a I told you so she could stay in a bad situation for that reason alone.
