What makes the difference between "beautiful" and "cute"?

I dont get it why some humans look beautiful and some others just look cute… is it like the shape of the eyes or bone stucture?or is it the eye brow?

Answer #1

Beautiful is something unique about person that sits them apart from the crowd. Like Marlyn Monroe. People said she was beautiful and not everyone looks like that. She was different and she was beautiful.

Its something uniquely special about a person that makes them all the more beautiful.

Cute normally describes someone who looks average but is still pretty. Beautiful really stands apart from others.

Answer #2

I think they’re different levels of attractiveness. Beautiful is beyond cute. But at the same time, I think cute is more along the lines of adorable, something that makes you smile or giggle. And beautiful is more jaw dropping, something that causes you to stare and maybe takes your breath away.

But its subjective, it’s in the eye of the beholder. If someone told you that you are cute, but that they don’t think you’re beautiful, that’s just one person’s opinion. Different people at different times in your life will call you both. If someone think’s you’re pretty enough to call you cute, someone will think you’re pretty enough to call you beautiful

Answer #3

I think it’s all about personal preference. One what person would consider cute another may consider beautiful. I really don’t think there’s really any particular feature that separates cute from beautiful. Like they say Beauty is the eye’s of the beholder.

Answer #4

cute is something a little kid is or a puppy..or some girl/guy at the mall…you see true beauty in things you love and get to know…like you see a girl/guy and say ohh (s)he is cute…if you go out for 3 months you still say (s)he is cute? yes but you also say (s)he is beautiful because you get to know them and love them…I hope I helped…

Answer #5

in my opinion.. It’s pretty much the same thing. I guess when I use the word “cute” It’s usually in reference to someone or something that I find attractive in that youthful sort of way. And “Beautiful” is usually used in reference to something more mature… well… now that I think about it, I actually use both words pretty freely to describe all different types of things. but if I had to define the two, I suppose that’s it… It also just depends on who you’re asking :) “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”

Answer #6

Someone who is beautiful and portrays beauty is more stunning than someone who is cute. Beautiful should make you go “wow”.

Answer #7

Looking at the Definitions, it appears it is in the eye of the beholder as to which term to apply - with ‘Beautiful’ being defined more as a physical term (aesthetically):

BEAUTIFUL:

Adjective: (of weather) highly enjoyable (Example: “What a beautiful day”) Adjective: aesthetically pleasing Adjective: delighting the senses or exciting intellectual or emotional admiration (Example: “A beautiful child”)

CUTE:

Adjective: obviously contrived to charm (Example: “A child with intolerably cute mannerisms”) Adjective: attractive especially by means of smallness or prettiness or quaintness (Example: “A cute kid with pigtails”)

Answer #8

beauty to me is how inside and is only shown by character. cute l think is just the way a persons face is but am not very sure.

Answer #9

I refer to babies as cute (often by their appearance and their action) and I call MATURE females beautiful.

Thats just me tho…

Answer #10

I think someone who is cute tends to look young, or make people think of a child, and beautiful is more adult.
