What is wrong with my skinny axolotyl?!??

My axolotyl is very skinny! We feed him every day with either bloodworms, beef heart or earth worms but he still stays the same. The ones at the pet shop look fat compared to him! We live in Australia and it’s very hot here at the moment but we have a set up that keeps the water below 22 degrees celcius. His gills look fine. He occaisionally floats at the top of the tank but we put that down to heat. We were also thinking of getting another one but we don’t want to get it sick if he is? Please help!!!
