What is wrong with my dog?

I have a 1 year old chihuahua named bowser and today I couldn’t find him so I thought he was lost. Turned out, he was hiding in the dark place of my garage and he didn’t come when I call which is very unusual.

He doesn’t appear to be hurt. He walks normally but he’s moving quite slow and more cautious than usual. His tail is no longer wagging. He looks sad and scared. And I just caught him hiding under my bed.

I’m very concerned and wondering what could be wrong with bowser :( Please help. ♥ thank you so much

You need to take it to a vet. I have two chihuahua’s. No one can give you the right answer unless your dog goes to a doctor.

I took him to the vet. Please check out my 2nd question I posted about him. (updates)

Could anyone have gotten on to your dog when you weren’t there? If he is not sick this is another option?

Some of my dogs act this way if I correct them. I mean I can just say “Bad Girl” because one of them chewed up something and she will go under the table and pout for the rest of the day.

Well…he sounds sick to me…anytime your dog is off and refuses food, you can assume it’s not feeling well…

Try offering him some boiled white rice with hamberger boiled with it…That’s a “soft diet”…see if he’ll eat a little of that. If not, then give him the night to rest…and try it again in the morning.

If he’s still wanting to hide in a dark, quiet place…then I’d get him to the vet…pronto.

PS…is there anything that he could have gotten into, in the garage that would be considered “poison”…lawn care stuff, car care stuff (antifreeze that may have dripped from a car)…Anything like that in there??? That’s what would scare me.

Maybe he has an upset tummy. How long as he been acting this way? If he doesn’t start acting like himself within the next day or two you might want to take him to see the vet just to make sure that everything is ok. I sure hope that it is nothing serious. I wish that I could give you better advice, but I actually am a cat owner my myself. You just sounded so concerned. I know how worrisome it is when a pet seems to be unwell!
