What is Vitamin C good for?
So my friend takes Vitamin C pills everyday, and I was wondering, what is Vitamin C good for anyway? I didn’t want to look dumb in front of my friend, so that’s why I’m asking on here:)
Vitamin C is good for you but the best way to get it is from a healthy diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables.
Vitamin C was chemically isolated and it was discovered that deficiency in this chemical lead to scurvy. However, there are many phytonutrients in fruits and vegetables that are good for you that will not be in a vitamin c tablet. Also, fruits and vegetables have fiber which is good for your moderating blood sugar, digestion, regularity, etc.
Your goal should be to improve your diet rather than taking pills.
Vitamin C is one of the safest and most effective nutrients, experts say. It may not be the cure for the common cold (though it’s thought to help prevent more serious complications).
