What is the use of having a friend of the opposite sex?

All of my best friends have been of the opposite gender. This is partly because I never really got into the typical “guy” things, like sports, cars, sports, hunting, sports. It’s also partly because the more insight you can get into how the mind of the opposite gender operates, the better prepared you’ll be for interacting with them later on.

Not to mention the fact that when you have a problem in a relationship or with a co-worker or even a family member, who better to advise you than someone who is on the same team?

And kandengue is right – it’s always nice to have someone “on the inside” to give you the sweet hookups.

I’m not to sure if I understand it either. But friends can make you feel less pressured and they are people your own age. You can also go to movies and stuff with them. It’s great that you are so close with your family, but I have my friends because they are teh people who help me out through high school drama, they know what I’m going through because they are the same age as me, and although we do argue, me and my sibilings argue too. I think male/female friends are great to have. Everyone is different and our friends help us feel special and they are the people you can do silly things with and it is always great to hae friends that you can see in school and stuff.

You need female friends because they know a lot of girls, and they might just hook you up with some of them!
