What is the plot of Brokeback Mountain?

I loveeed Heath Ledger,I still do but my mom said that he became famous with ‘’Brokeback Mountain’’ I know that it’s a story about gay cowboys but I mean what is the plot??

Your mother is incorrect, Heath Ledger was famous long before Brokeback Mountain. The plot is two cowboys, both gay, in a time when homosexuality was still very much hidden from society, Heath Ledgers character tries to resist his urges and deny his love for Jake Gyllenhalls character. The two men marry but find it hard to resist each other, their lives take very different turns as they struggle with their desires and keeping their secret. Both give very powerful performances that earned Heath Ledger an Oscar nomination for best Actor. The late Heath Ledger was a very powerful actor that would have continued to do great things and impress the world with his talent. He looked for meaningful scripts that spoke to him and he never backed away from a challengeing role no matter how small it may have been
