What is the best standalone RSS reader?

I need an RSS reader so I can keep up with all the blogs I read daily. I have tried Google Reader, Bloglines, and a few other online readers, but I don’t like them very much. I would rather have one that I can download and tweak the way I like it.

Dear spiralbutterfly, If you use windows xp and have explorer 7 there is one built right in. Sue…good luck

Well, I don’t use Outlook…I use another email program, that doesn’t have RSS capabilities. But that would be nice…ya know, to have it coming in with my email. I may look into it anyway.

You’re right though, I don’t need anymore software to bog this thing down. Google reader is pretty good…better than the others I’ve tried, so I may just stick with that unless someone points me to something better.

There are plugins for outlook that will do RSS if you want to integrate it into your email experience. That way, you don’t overload your computer with one more piece of software.
