What is it with music video's and movies?

Okay. So in most of the music video’s I have watched have nothing to do with the song itself. Is it illegal if they make a video that matches the song? Same thing with the movies. If there’s a movie and a book, I understand that every single little detail can’t be in a movie but they are so unchronological in movies. And if they are they subtract really good parts and/or add on some sh*tty parts… So why that and what’s with the music video’s being nothing like the songs themselves?

I think it kinda wierd to do that to but some of those mixed matched videos can be freakin hilariouse and I think that people just get bored!
