What is good way to stand out when looking for a job?

I have been looking for a job since July 2009 and still have no joy. I reguarly apply for jobs, and I would say I have probably applied for over 100+ jobs. I got to an interview for a christmas job, but got turned down, and that is the only interview I have had. I just want to know how to stand out from the rest with C.V’s, because I never seem to get noticed by employers, please help! Thanks :)

work on your resume firstly as thats what gets you the interveiw adapt it to suit the kind of job yoiur looking for if you worked at a salon or something for example and then go to work at a butchers and have a resume that includes all the skills you have from cutting hair, they wont like that change your resume to suit the kind of job your going for and include any skills youve learned from previous jobs that relate to the job your going for if your eager to learn new skills, are a fast learner, ect include things like those

in the hobbies section of your resume dont write things watching tv or hanging out with friends, if you have a hobby that relates to the job, example if your going for a mechanics job and as a hobby like to work on your car and fix it up, include that

look up good examples of resumes on the net and base yours on them the resume is what gets you the interveiw, how you present yourself and talk about why you want the job is what will get you it

the way you present yourself is also important dress according to the job if your gong for a builders job wear overalls or jeans, a plain top and work boots if your going for an accountant, dress in a suit, ect take out any piercings, cover any tattoos, dont wear sunglasses or a hat inside, ect hygenie is important, look clean if you can, get new clothes for the job interveiw (new top, shoes and pants) theyll notice you if you look like youve made the effort

introduce yourself when you meet them give a firm handshake when they shake your hand, not too limp and not too strong look at them when they talk to you dont stand too close or invade there personal space brush your teeth, no one likes talking to someone with bad breath body language is important dont sloch or cross your arms dont fiddle with your hands look interested

also think about what to say for the possible questions theyll ask you like why do you want to work for us? do you have any expirience? what are your skills?

I think maybe it’s simply tough to find a job these days - especially if that means you’re looking for someone to EMPLOY you (I.e. tell you what you should do)

What do YOU enjoy doing - or in other words: What could you see yourself doing like 12 hours a day?

A very good attitude is key! Hygiene is also key, remember to brush your teeth, comb and straighten up your hair. Don’t slouch, always keep good posture. And make sure you always look them straight in the eye. Don’t make it a creepy stare, just don’t look around the room when they are asking you things or when you are replying to things. Dress appropriate. Clean clothes, nothing offensive to the employer.

That’s all I can think of right now, just remember to hang in there! I’m sure you’ll get a job soon as you know it. :D
