What is going on!?

Recently, a boy admitted to me that he liked me and I told him I liked him back. Anyways, what happened was, when I asked him out he said no. Then the other day I was feeling pretty low so I was saying to him how ugly I felt. By the way, we are know like best friends. At that point, he then said “Yhoor not ugly, I used to fancy yhoo and the only reason I didn’t ask yhoo out was because I thought yhoo would say no” So I left it at that but I don’t understand WHY he said about him asking me out when he said no when I asked him out?

ITS NOT GOOD ASKING A GUY OUT BECAUSE THERE SLOW AND THEY GET CONFUSED.. SO NEXT TIME YOU NOW TO LET THEM DO THE JOB HAHAH :) YOU SHOULD ASK HIM WHY WAS THE REASON HE SAID NO???
