What is a good guitar to buy?

I want to buy a new guitar, I have a lyon by washburn right now and I just kind of feel like it’s a piece of crap. I’m looking to buy a decent one that isn’t too expensive. Any suggestions?

Answer #2

Les Paul.

Answer #3

The daisy guitars are very good quality and adorable too-I’m getting a purple acoustic daisy guitar.

Yamaha. Solid top, nice action and beautiful sound. best damn guitar for the money! I have a Martin which I love but you are gonna spend some money. Seagulls are nice. they are made in Canada where the wood is subsidized so they crank out some nice guitars for a decent price. (all thee above are acoustic!) enjoy!

Answer #5

Depends on what you play. if your into metal, schecter makes high quality guitars really cheap. epiphones are cheap and good for all music. thats my suggestion!

Answer #6

I would advise you to get Ibanez or Schecter (as canofwalrus said) if you’re into metal. Gibson guitars are pretty good generally too (esp for rhythm).

Answer #7

I play mostly indie stuff and I forgot to mention acoustic guitar.

the daisy ones are cool and I like the slim neck because I do have tiny hands, but I’m confused are they made for younger girls ie 13.. or so? I’m 18 so I don’t want a little kid guitar lol

Since you didn’t specify type or budget, I’m going to assume you are interested in electric guitar and want a good value, but not necessarily the cheapest there is.

I have an Alvarez electric-acoustic ($800) which I’m very happy with. I also have a Schecter c1+ (~$600), which I’m happy with as well. Both guitars came well setup straight out of the box (proper intonation adjustments, bridge and neck heights, etc). If you need a setup, expect to pay about $60-$120.

The strings are about 1/3 of your guitar performance, assuming you’re guitar has been properly setup, and since they’re relatively cheap, I recommend buying several different types (make sure you get the right gauges though) and trying them out. Keep a written record of your impressions, and try to record how they sound using the same settings and a simple piece you can easily play.

If you change the string gauges, you will need to also adjust the truss rod, which requires great care. However, it may be worth it if you want faster easier play (lighter gauges) or a deeper louder and less tinny sound (heavier gauges).

There are a lot of good acoustic guitars there for cheap , right now im saving for a fender electro acoustic , its gonna cost me only 240 euros with fender bag and stuff , but if you want to go for a lower price there are eko acoustics wich are pretty good
