What if I gave someone my wifi password?

My neighboor has a laptop and I have wifi internet, so he asked me if he could use it, I was like okay so I typed in my password to his laptop, my question is, can he do anything bad or hack any of my stuff, also will it continue to let him log in? because when my friend brings her laptop it automatically connects to my wifi.

Answer #1

Well I don’t know much about this, but as you can share files and such like across a wireless network I would say there was a big possibilty. Also he’s using your internet connection which I assume you (or somebody in your house) pay for, so he’s getting it for free?

Have you have usuage restrictions (on what you can download) then he could use all that up. If I was you I’d change the wi-fi password and don’t let him use it again. You’re basically giving him free internet access?

Answer #2

okayy yes he will probaab;y be able to continue to get on your wifi if he saved the password if you do not want this I suggest you change the password. but no I do not think that he can hack any of your stuff. I get other people wifi on my laptop all the time and I cant see or have anything they have on their computer as far as the hacking thing goes I dont think you have anything to worry about

Answer #3

Yes, he can hack stuff… And yes it will continue to allow him to log on.
